RagnarLoardmon's Shield and Sword: A Structure Deck Upgrade

Image
Article by Connor "Akhariou" McIndewar Entering the Digital Gate Digimon is a card game that has seen remarkable growth and expanse in its last year of existence. With its rocky start during the covid years it has truly grown into a mainstay TCG that continues to shine through its unique mechanics and in the form of the Memory Resource and the gameplay tension of "Play" and "Digivolve". There are so many new ways to play within the game for avid fans of all Digimon.  I speak of this beginning because today we are going to talk about one of Digimons newest releases, as well as a throwback to the first English released set. Today we talk about ST-13, the RagnarLoardmon structure deck and the deck we would construct from two of them. Digital Dive So who is RagnarLoardmon? Well to be honest and in true tragic fashion, there is not much known about them. They have not appeared in any video game, manga, or anime, and have only appeared in reference books. Howeve...

Jesmon Strikes Hard: A Quick Upgrade to the Jesmon Digimon Structure Deck

Image
Article by Adam Ray Digimon's latest expansion, BT-10, Xros Encounter has landed. The new cards to spend your Memory on is bringing a bevvy of new strategies and levelling up old ones. In this new expansion, we also received Structure Decks 12 and 13. These decks are usually a very good pick up as an on ramp into playing Digimon. These decks in particular include a selection of heavily played Tamer cards, including the highly sought after Davis Motomiya from BT3. My colleague will be looking at the RagnaLordmon deck in his own article, but right now we're going swear loyalty to Huckmon and Jesmon. Digimon's Preconstructed decks are very good value in providing a decent number of playables right out of the box, often but not always, bringing whole play sets of the new cards. This deck tech is the easiest path for upgrading this deck, but expect further upgrade options at the end of the article. Structure Deck 12 offers a full deck synergised around Huckmon and other Digimon ...

A First Look at Lorcana: Disney's First Collectible Card Game!

Image
Article by Adam Ray It's a secret to precisely no one that I love card games. I collect six games in paper, then play another three digitally. The ccg for Dragonball, My Hero Academia, and now One Piece are all on my radar, as well as games you've never heard of like Twilight of the Gods and Gate Ruler. The upcoming open beta for Marvel Snap  is coming in a few short weeks, but let's have a look way into the future. It was a few short weeks ago that we got our first look at Lorcana, Disney's Collectible Card Game. They have had forays into this genre in the past but this is a very big, very serious venture. When announced, it's been said that they want this game to come close to rivalling the titans of the industry: Magic and Pokémon. The overall look of the cards is very reminiscent of Magic, we can presume that the number in the top left is a play cost, with an attack number and a defence number. Their effects having names is very flavourful, and the promise to ha...
