DO IT, BUY THE BOOK - NOVEMBER WRAP UP
Challenge 1 - Read a book by one of your favourite authors - Daughter of the Deep by Rick Riordan. I love everything that Rick has written. His first Mythology series Percy Jackson is still one of my favourite things to re-read. This book, however is a little different. All about a nautical academy that takes on kids with special abilities and trains them to help the people of the world. Only... things don't quite go according to plan. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 2 - Read a book with your favourite colour on the cover - Not my Problem by Ciara Smyth. I have only read two of Ciara's books, but this author has become an insta buy for me now. I've loved both of her stories. The romance is super cute, but the main plotline shenanigans are so well written. A teenager with mostly normal problems suddenly become the "fix it" girl for the whole school. It all starts with a tiny little push... ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 3 - Re-read an old favourite-Percy Jackson and the LightningThief. So... no one is surprised that I chose this to re-read. I've not long read it, but I will always have time for Percy Jackson. This is such a comfort read at this point it just puts a smile on my face whenever I open the first page. This small chaotic demigod is the son of a Greek god. Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and he is not happy about it. For some reason they blame this poor child who doesn't even know about his patronage. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 4 - Read a Graphic Novel with your favourite Villian in it - Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe. This is a masterpiece. It's a modern re-telling of the Hades and Persephone story. I already love this story, but Rachel's writing and artwork just make the story feel so refreshed and rejuvenated. Any and all of the greek gods who are mean to Persephone and Hades are my favourite Villians, and boy are there a few. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 5 - Read our pick of the Month from Paul - Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art by Scott McCloud. This is a must read for EVERYONE who loves comics or artwork. This was such an interesting read and I loved the in depth way McCloud explained evererything. Thank you Paul!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Yo, what an amazing month of reading. I definitely need a recoup month, I've been struggling to finish books hitting a bit of a wall. So, this was FANtastic. I am now super looking forward to some festive reading for the month of December.
