DO IT, BUY THE BOOK - SEPTEMBER WRAP UP

By Fay Clark.

My goodness, I absolutely sped through the September DO IT, BUY THE BOOK CHALLENGES. What a great time I've been having, you can catch it all on our Instagram @FanUniverses. Let's see what I read shall we?!

Challenge 1 - READ A BOOK ON YOUR COMMUTE, OR JUST OUTSIDE. - Unearthed: A Jessica Cruz Story by Lilliam Rivera. This is a stunning Ya graphic novel. It has hard themes to talk about, but need to be represented more in everything. The artwork was just spectacular the subtle colour change that matched Jessica's emotions was inspired. I recommend this to everyone. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.

Challenge 2 - READ A BOOK WITH FOOD IN THE COVER OR IN THE TITLE. - With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo. I have read some of Elizabeth Acevedo's work before and she has always been a delight to read. Her books come off like reading small poems every couple of pages, that arc into a bigger story. It's so well written and has amazing themes about young motherhood and dreams. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.

Challenge 3 - READ YOUR MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK ON YOUR TO BE READ PILE. - Rogue: Untouched by Alisa Kwitney. I adore Rogue as a character and I had no idea this book existed. Taking a new spin in her origin story, you can see Rogue and a few other mutants battling it out in this great book! You know you've done something right when I can hear the southern drawl of Rogue's voice while reading through the book. I loved the companionship with other characters. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.

Challenge 4 - READ THE FIRST BOOK THAT COMES TO MIND WHEN I SAY TBE WORD "WOLF" - Season of Storms by Andrzej Sapkowski. Trying to get through this series in chronological order is a task. I am ready to take it on! This is the second book I've read about "The White Wolf" Geralt. Admittedly when hearing the word Wolf I though of Bucky Barnes as the White Wolf first then I thought of Geralt. I know what I had to do, jump back into the world of Monsters and Witchers. I enjoy that most of the monsters Geralt has to deal with are actually humans. Well played Andrzej, well played. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.

Challenge 5 - READ OUR PICK OF THE MONTH FROM PHILIP. - Saga Vol 1. By Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. I have read this series before. I have completed this series before. This means nothing to me as I once again dive back into this amazing fantasy world. I love the flawed characters and the adult language and themes. VERY MUCH NOT RATED PG. Two star crossed lovers on the run from the government because love means more than war. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.

I finished the September challenges really early on in the month, and have been enjoying reading even more this month. Having had a cracking time with all of the Challenges, I can not wait to see what October had in store for my reading!
