DO IT, BUY THE BOOK- JULY WRAP UP
Challenge 1 - READ A BOOK THAT IS OLDER THAN YOU. - Reaper Man by Terry Pratchett. I am slowly making my way through some of the Discworld books. I was told to start with the Death series so that's what I am doing. I loved this little holiday Death got to have and how we got to see all the implications of what would happen if Death didn't do his job. What a great character! ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 2 - READ SOMETHING YOU DISCOVERED THROUGH FANTASTIC UNIVERSES. - Future State Immortal Wonder Woman #1 by Becky Cloonan and Jen Bartel. How are people not in love with this and shouting about it from the rooftops? I adore everything about this. The storyline is excellent and Jen Bartel is a Saint. The way Wonder Woman's costume has changed is so visually stunning and heartbreaking at the same time. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 3 - READ A BOOK WEARING THE SAME HAT THE ENTIRE TIME. - Justice Leauge Dark Vol 1. By James Tynion IV. I felt like I was in good company doing this challenge with this book. Detective Chimp always has his trusty hat on and so I didn't feel so silly. I did feel very on edge though. The amount of dark in JLD is great! I love this team and the way they "problem solve". I need more of Zatanna and Diana talking about magic and being awesome. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 4 - PICK TWO BOOKS AND LET A COIN TOSS DECIDE WHICH TO READ. - Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas. A prequel to a story I have already read and urge other to read called THE HATE YOU GIVE. This book takes me right back to the Gardens and all the troubles it has, just a generation before the main book is set. We still talk about themes that need to be explored more in YA and it is done so brilliantly by Angie. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Challenge 5 - READ THE PICK OF THE MONTH. ADAM RAYS PICK - ADVENTURE ZONE VOL 1. HERE THERE BE GOBLINS by The McElroy's and Casey Pietsch. Having already read this graphic novel book several times, I STILL REALLY LOVED MY JAUNT BACK TO DND WITH IDIOTS. One of my favourite ongoing series, if you like anything fantasy you'll like this. Having no idea how to play DnD means you actually learn with the characters. Trust me, they don't know either! That's what makes it so fun. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5.
Well there we have it. Everything I read for the JULY DO IT, BUY THE BOOK CHALLENGES. I had a great month and will definitely be continuing with series I picked up this month, they were all so good! Hope you had a great July.
