Hawk And Dove Costumes For DC’s ‘Titans’ Revealed

Article by Steve J. Ray

Hawk and Dove have arrived... and they look amazing! Since the first cast announcement of Teagen Croft as Raven in the eagerly anticipated Titans TV show, excitement has been ramping up. We now know six of the cast members, the characters they'll be playing, and are now even starting to see images of them in full costume.

Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti are the creative team behind the series. Brenton Thwaites will star as Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing, alongside Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly. The actors will be playing Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Hawk and Dove respectively.

The great news is that the new Hawk and Dove costumes, which hit social media just today, are every bit as cool as the one modelled by Brenton Thwaites.
As a fan of the Titans for over three decades, I am very excited. It’s common knowledge that over the course of the series we will see Dick Grayson grow from Robin, to become Nightwing. Because of the casting and costumes we’ve now seen for Hawk and Dove we now know that they too, will have a history and back story.
So… who exactly are Hawk and Dove?

War And Peace, Hate And Love, Chaos And Order… Hawk And Dove

It’s really interesting that we will be seeing the Hank Hall/Dawn Granger versions of the characters. The original Hawk and Dove consisted of Hank and his brother Don.
The Lords Of Order and Chaos bestowed powers upon the siblings in order to save their father. They had many adventures until their title was cancelled, when they went on to join the Titans. Hawk was a creature of strength, fuelled by rage. Dove was a man of peace fuelled by love. The two kept each other in check, and were always stronger together. After Don’s death in DC’s epic Crisis On Infinite Earths, Hank Hall continued as Hawk, but was overcome by his own rage.
The new Dove, Dawn Granger, received her powers when Don Hall died. Once again they were bestowed upon her to save a parent in danger. The Lords of Chaos and Order paired her with Hank, to keep him in check, and maintain universal balance. So was born the new Hawk and Dove.
Having the Hall/Granger team on the show makes more sense, as it will provide the duo with a richer history, and backstory. This pairing is also the current comics iteration of the team, so will help comics readers and TV viewers alike.
So, there we have it Bat-fans. Are you excited by the latest cast members? Do you like the costumes? Be sure to let us know.
